UTAH PIONEER DATA BASE TRAINING
on September 11, 2008, Brenda and Ronda went to Utah Valley University in Provo, Utah for a training on how to use the updates version of Utah Pioneer Data Base. Pioneer is supplied to libraries throughout the state by the Utah State Library.
We spent the day taking different classes. Learning how to do car repair, teach children new ways to find information to do homework assignments. We learned about how to access the new family history site. Heritage Quest. We learned how to use the new program called Overdrive. This is a program to daownload audiobooks onto an Mp3 Player from their library.
The books are checked out to you for two weeks then they are checked back in to Overdrive automatically. Its a great way to get books that your library may not have or may not have in audiobook. Come in to the library and check it out.
We learned a lot while we were there. We met new library friends and enjoyed the day.
Now we have learned lots of new things we are inviting patrons to come into the Library and let us show you the new things that are available on the new Utah Pioneer website.
